Despite living this post-Brexit era still full of geopolitical uncertainties and economic challenges, London's resilient spirit and charm have cemented its place at the top of the annual ranking.
It is the only city in this year's ranking to have taken the top spot in multiple subcategories, from nightlife fun to museums variety.
As one of the most sought-after destinations for students, foreign investors, tourists and business executives, London attracts people from all walks of life, ranking high on the overall livability index.
Unsurprisingly, the city ranked third globally in international traveler spending, taking in over $15 billion and outspending every other European city.
It is true that the city is focused on improving infrastructure with the upgrade of Gatwick Airport and the city’s transport network is undergoing transformative developments, such as new tube stops on the Elizabeth line: one of the most ambitious projects to increase connectivity in the capital.
Urban renewal is found in the Camden Highline too: the mile-long green-way, inspired by New York’s iconic High Line, will bring new life to an unused railway track when it opens in 2027, providing a unique elevated space for walking, riding bikes and meeting up for outdoor work outs and activities of all kinds.
With an eye on sustainability and growth, our Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan was re-elected for a third term in early May 2024 because he promised a “fairer, safer and greener” London, just what people had asked for.
Fairer in the name of equality, safer to contrast the recent criminal activities across town and greener to provide more green spaces and areas for people to enjoy the urban outdoors.
At least the third point has been reached with flying colours.
The mayor's commitment to green initiatives, along with his focus on reducing air pollution and tackling climate change has strengthened London's reputation as a forward-thinking global capital.
The city ranks high in prosperity, maintaining its position as a top choice for international businesses and investors as it has always been, showing itself to be unscathed by Brexit.

view of London
London's hospitality sector is another driver of its global appeal.
Recent hotel openings showcase the city's ability to blend historic charm with contemporary luxury.
This year, the selection criteria were organized into three large pillars: Livability (green spaces, health, air quality, rental costs), Lovability (restaurants, cultural activities, attractions, museums, Instagram Hashtags, shopping, nightlife) and Prosperity (investments, education, universities, job opportunities) to define the score of each city.

view of London
London confirms its leadership for the tenth consecutive year according to a study conducted by the consultancy firm Resonance which examined over 270 global metropolises.
The British capital's attractiveness is fueled by its rich cultural offering, lively nightlife and unparalleled airport connectivity, which make it a global hub for residents and visitors.
Over 20,000 people in this survey were asked these three questions:
1. Which are the three cities where you would most like to live one day?
2. Which are the three cities you would most like to visit in the next 12-24 months?
3. Which three cities do you think currently offer the best job opportunities?
The ranking came out to be:
1. London, United Kingdom
2. New York, United States
3. Paris, France
4. Tokyo, Japan
5. Singapore
6. Rome, Italy
7. Madrid, Spain
8. Barcelona, Spain
9. Berlin, Germany
10. Sydney, Australia
I have visited eight out of ten of these cities, excluding Singapore and Japan and, amongst the 8 remaining I would choose London for sure.
Am I biased? Perhaps.
