On Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1, the sixth award presentation screening party and exposition was held at the Knowledge Capital Event Lab, located in the North Building at Grand Front Osaka. The event featured award-wining displays in the Digital Content Category selected from around the country, a screening of winners in the Film Category from Japan and overseas, and a screening of recommended products from the Taiwan Future Films Development Association, one of the ISCA’s overseas partners.
The ISCA’s famous cheering squad, “A Star is Born”, also invited 22 companies--among them top advertising agencies, TV stations, and IT companies--to get advice from professionals in the field. Of course the judge Shuzo Shiota emceed the event! His passion and high energy helped the award winners relax, bringing smiles to everyone’s face at the venue during the presentations.
On the second day, the ISCA’s stellar and diverse panel of judges hosted a talk session and gave live performances. Our overseas judges working on the front lines around the world also gave a global talk session, touching on topics like the future direction of global art and media in a discussion that brought in perspectives from Europe, the US, and Asia. Guests then enjoyed a live performance featuring sound and video by audiovisual artist Junichi Akagawa. Up-and-coming artist Ei Wada, who also served as a judge this year for the first time, also took the stage with an audience participation–style performance featuring striped shirts and barcodes. Guests of all ages delighted in the rare musical instruments from head to toe.
The event concluded with a talk session from Ei Wada, Junichi Akagawa, and head judge Naohiro Ukawa. The session was facilitated by artist curator Kazuhito Habu, who hosted a lively discussion on countless topics that would only come up at the ISCA--including the dilemmas that artists face.
There were many children at the event this year who got to experience the entries as well.
We hope that the event will continue to feature presentations driven by youthful vitality and technological insight. Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you next year.
