  Junichi Akagawa
  (Audio-Visual Artist / Ableton Certified Trainer) From 2010 to 2013 he lived in Berlin, presently living in Japan.
  By programming and using sensor data, he is making live performances, dance pieces and installations.
  In 2012 he has made a contemporary dance piece “Figure”, which is composited with dynamic images, sharp sounds and human body.
  This piece was shown in Japan, German, the Netherlands, Israel and Chana, and it won the Tel Aviv-Yafo・Yokohama Prize in Yokohama Dance Collection EX 2014.

  Striped Shirtsizer

  The striped-pattern noise generated when the TV audio jack is accidentally inserted into the video socket. Conversely, can you get audio out of another striped pattern, a horizontally striped shirt? Can you perform music on clothes? The musical instrumentation generated from such imaginings.
  Connecting the video signal from a video camera directly to the audio socket.
  In this performance a horizontally striped shirt is moved about in front of a camera to alter the sound.
  If you're wearing a horizontally striped shirt, you're wearing sound!

  Started ELECTRONICOS FANTASTICOS! in 2015, which, by collaborating with all sorts of people, revives obsolete consumer electronics back to life as new electronic instruments, and performs as an ensemble. For this project, Ei received a Japanese MEXT award as well as two honorary mentions at the world's biggest media art awards, Prix Ars Electronica and European Commission's Starts Prize '18. He also received a World OMOSIROI Award, and taught at Knowledge Capital Daigakko.
