DAY 1
In FY2023, the first time in four years since the Covid-19 pandemic that the award winners and judges were invited from abroad,
we received 238 entries from 61 schools in Japan and 619 entries from 78 countries abroad,
and held an award presentation, screening and exhibition of the works selected through a rigorous screening process.
ISCA (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CREATIVE AWARD) has returned to its international format.
The winners of the Digital Contents Category exhibited and explained their works for two days,
which many visitors were able to view and experience.
It was impressive to see the award winners listening intently to the review comments of the judges,
who are top creators from Japan and abroad.
In addition, the exchange program "Who will create the UZUUZU future?" was held to facilitate connections between students and companies, which can only be realized through the crossover of the Knowledge Capital and ISCA (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CREATIVE AWARD).
The program was attended by many companies involved in the creative industries, such as media, advertising, IT, and entertainment.
They discussed the human resources and creativity they seek, transcending industry boundaries.
DAY 2
The second day was highlighted by several special programs commemorating the 10th anniversary of the opening of KNOWLEDGE CAPITAL.
First, we look back at the works of the late Toshio Matsumoto,
who served for many years as the head of the ISCA (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CREATIVE AWARD) judges,
in "Respect! Toshio Matsumoto".
The late Mr. Matsumoto was a pioneer in the field of experimental film,
which is the pride of Japan, and the talk session with those who have a connection with him was truly overwhelming,
as we were able to experience his thoughts and expressive power and the greatness of his video works.
The event also featured a special performance by Shigekix, the No. 1 young break dancer,
who belongs to the same generation as the award winners.
In addition to his dynamic breakdancing, Shigekix also shared his daily life and background,
as well as his love of art, in an interview talk with moderator Shuzo Shiota,
which could only be heard here and gave inspiring encouragement to other creators of his generation!
Ryo Fujii, director of "TAROMAN: Taro Okamoto Style Special Effects Live Action" appeared as a special guest speaker.
The talk with Naohiro Ukawa, the head of the judges, thoroughly focused on the essence of filmmaking
and the stance of making "strange" things, and was very lively.
