Me and my team extend our heartfelt thanks to the judges, ISCA, and Knowledge Capital for supporting young artists. I would also like to call attention to the important work that healthcare workers and essential workers have done and continue to do for us during these difficult times. We all have to do our part to stay responsible so that their sacrifices will count for something. Now more than ever, it is important that we show empathy not just to our loved ones, but also to everyone around us.

I’m so honoured to have been able to meet and engage with such great artists and creators in this year’s virtual edition of ISCA. It was heart-warming to hear how moved the judges were by this piece, and is why we as artists are inspired to keep creating and sharing our stories. I am deeply grateful to Knowledge Capital for creating this platform for emerging artists, to ISCA for presenting us with this prestigious award, and for the entire In Sight crew and cast that made this film possible.

I am profoundly grateful for receiving the Grand Prize at ISCA 2020.I created the work when I was studying in Japan. There were a number of questions floating around inside of me and I created the work to try to answer them. I finally managed to complete the work thanks to support from my college teachers and friends along the way. 2020 has been an extraordinary year for people around the world, but for tiny little me, it has been a turning point in my life. With this honor, I hope I can continue creating.

Award Comment
The theme of OASIS is environmental issues, which have emerged through human development, and it’s a work that pleads with people to take notice of those issues and to use of their wisdom to help solve them. That makes it a work that really only comes to life once people know about it, so I am very happy that it won an award and that you have all seen it.

This year’s ISCA has been an unbelievably valuable occasion for me because it made me realize that people think what I've been doing and thinking is interesting. Thank you so much for watching my work.

I am really happy that a lot of people were able to see my work on the big ISCA stage, a work that I made steadily and painstakingly all by myself, and I am also really happy to even receive a wonderful award like this. A grin automatically came to my face when I heard one of the judges' comment, "It’s a creepy work, but in a good way.” I will continue creating works in my own unique way. Thank you very much.
