This year, the 11th year since KNOWLEDGE CAPITAL has opened for business, we received a record number of entries, 276 from 60 schools in Japan and 783 from 73 countries overseas, for a total of 1,059 entries in all three categories!
The award-winning works selected through a rigorous judging process were announced, screened, and exhibited over the two days of the festival.
This year's theme is “Evolution, Boom!".
It signifies the impactful encounters and moments, as well as the major changes that take place in the award winners themselves as a result of their participation in the ISCA -INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CREATIVE AWARD.
In addition, three top active creators from the Tate, Netflix and Hollywood have been invited to join the International Video Content Category as new judges, giving the ISCA -INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CREATIVE AWARD a rich international flavor like itself and making it an international creative award.
DAY 1 / Friday, November 29
As one of the educational program supports for art schools, we invited students from vocational schools in Osaka City to participate in the presentation and screening of award-winning works. As an extracurricular class, many vocational school students came to the event which provided them with an opportunity to experience the works of students of their age up close.
The students were so enthusiastic in their appreciation of the screened works and exhibits, which were at the forefront of student creators' work, that it was a moment when we felt the future of creators.
The winners of the Digital Content Category exhibited and presented their works for two days.
As a result of this first attempt to exhibit works not only at the Knowledge Theater, but also at “The Lab.” in the Knowledge Capital North Building, more visitors were able to view and experience digital contents than in previous years, which was truly “Evolution, Boom !" in the eleventh year.
In addition, an exchange program was held again this year to provide a point of contact between companies, governments, and students, which can only be realized through the crossover between KNOWLEDGE CAPITAL and the ISCA-INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CREATIVE AWARD.
In a relaxed atmosphere, all participants, regardless of industry, talked frankly with each other about their productions and other topics.
DAY 2 / Saturday, November 30
One of the highlights of this year's program was the “Introduction of New Members of the Overseas Judges,” in which Mark Miller, Yoriko Ito, and Andre Lomov introduced their own creative activities at the forefront of the world and shared their impressions of participating in the ISCA-INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CREATIVE AWARD. The program was a stimulating one, with each presenting their impressions of their participation in the ISCA-INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CREATIVE AWARD.
Furthermore, architect Tadao Ando took the stage for a special talk! In his talk titled “Running for Dreams,” he delivered a passionate and soulful message to the award winners and visitors of all ages, as is typical of the “World-renowned ANDO".
The audience's enthusiasm was at its highest with his vivacious talk, which was seen in various parts of the talk.
Mr. Ando's book signing was also held at the same time and was also a great success, with many people lining up to have their books signed.
Knowledge Capital is now in its 11th year, and FY2024, which ended with the theme "Evolution, Boom!", was again a great success.
Sincere gratitude to all visitors for coming to the events this year. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
