How CEA Supports Music & Performing Arts Industry During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the creative economy, especially music and performing arts. Having been among the first sectors of creative industries to face the disruption, they are hardest hit by the prolonged effects. To mitigate the adverse impacts, the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization) or CEA implements two projects to create opportunities for musicians and actors to power through the hardship with creativity.

“CEA Live House” provides free spaces for artists to use as a studio to practice their art and record live performances with high-quality production equipment at no cost. “Sound of the City”, aimed to empower musicians to continue making music, results in 100 songs that tell the stories and reflect the identities of local areas across the country. The project allows the musicians to showcase their work via online channels to push forward the music industry in Thailand.
