Shutaro Takeda

Associate Professor of Urban Institute, Kyushu University/Co-founder of Kyoto Fusioneering Ltd.

A sustainability scientist with a notable record of activities, including working for the United Nations, entrepreneur, and Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers, and Japan Self-Defense Forces. He completed his graduate degree at Harvard University and went on to establish Kyoto Fusioneering, a start-up from Kyoto University that aims to create "the sun on the earth". Today, the company has grown into a global entity with over 100 employees worldwide. He is the only Japanese national to have been knighted by the Sovereign Order of Malta and has been in the news for his achievements.
