Ryo Kawamoto

President of Grubin / Social Designer

Born in 1998 in Hyogo Prefecture, Ryo Kawamoto is currently enrolled in the School of Medicine at Tokyo University’s Faculty of Medicine. While pursuing his studies as a doctor, he is also engaged in “social design.” His main project, Grubin, uses black soldier flies to recycle food waste. He has received several awards, including the top prize of the 2018 Nippon Foundation Social Innovation Awards. His unique inventive spark and ability to inspire those around him make our world more OMOSIROI.
